Global Legal Counsel – Digital & E-Commerce  (M/F/X)

You will excel and enjoy this position if you are ready to actively handle the following missions :


 



  • Advise the business teams of the French, EME and Global Digital Departments on requirements mainly related to distance selling, consumer law, and IT law;

  • Analyze and frame all omnichannel projects and promotions (e.g., contests) requiring a review of legal, data protection, and artificial intelligence risks;

  • Review customers' online sales journeys, from their access to our website(s) or mobile application(s) up to the finalization of their products or services purchases (ie. website disclaimers, online payment tools and methods, online fraud prevention) and after-sales service;

  • Draft, analyze, and review all standard contractual documentation, such as General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC), General Terms of Use (GTU), information notices, etc.;

  • Analyze, negotiate, and draft all types of IT contracts (including personal data clauses): license, software, service, maintenance, hosting, integration, third-party application maintenance (TMA), hardware, in the context of Digital Projects;

  • Ensure coordination with local legal counsels in the implementation of Digital Projects initiated by EME and/or Global teams, as well as associated documentation;

  • Manage mediation requests with customers and the mediator and support customer service in handling certain requests;

  • Ensure the onboarding of new hires and ongoing training for Digital teams on legal topics;

  • Conduct various studies such as : research, drafting memos or other legal documents for operational staff or other internal clients;

  • Manage and prevent disputes or litigation.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal counsel and/or lawyer.

  • Master's degree (M2) in New Technologies Law, Digital Law, Contract Law, and/or CAPA (Certificate of Aptitude for the Legal Profession).

  • Good knowledge of laws applicable to the following areas: digital/e-commerce, online sales, IT and new technologies law, digital law, and personal data protection.

  • Autonomy in case management, priority management, and deadlines.

  • Ability to identify the stakes behind complex subjects, to alert, and to participate in the resolution of identified problems.

  • A strong interest in innovation and digital is essential.

  • Excellent level of English, both written and spoken.

  • The position is a permanent contract (CDI) based in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
