We are looking for a talented and business oriented tech company experienced in EU, French and Ukrainian law to join the Legal team at BlaBlaCar on a permanent contract starting as soon as possible. Their mission is to support the high speed growth of the marketplace and international expansion of the business.
As a Legal Counsel, your role will be to provide support to our marketplace, bus and train business teams on multiple legal practice areas such as platform regulation, e-commerce, consumer protection and commercial contracts. You will be reporting to the Head of Legal and working with a team of approx. 10 people.
This position requires the capacity of working in a fast growing tech company, of developing a high level of understanding of how our product works and of creating close connections with operational teams. Having an appetite for project management is a must.
Be a trusted advisor to the marketplace, bus and train business teams in multiple jurisdictions within EU and beyond, including Ukraine and other Eastern Europe countries, by providing creative solutions while ensuring compliance with regulations, with a specific focus on our OTA (online travel agency) role;
Managing any pre-litigations and litigations;
Drafting and negotiating all types of contracts (including commercial contracts, partnership agreements, etc);
Collaborate with internal partners, and notably government relations team, to respond to requests from regulators;
All other matters which arise in the day to day running of an expanding business;
Areas of particular relevance include consumer issues, commercial contracts, transportation regulation, e-commerce, digital law, competition law.
6 to 8 years of experience as a qualified lawyer in France and Ukraine, with experience in start-ups and new technology companies, either in house or in private practice;
Knowledge and experience in dealing with a range of commercial issues such as e-commerce, platform regulation and consumer protection;
Knowledge and experience dealing with regulatory topics;
Comfortable working in various jurisdictions;
Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills;
Business oriented, creative and solution driven mind-set;
Experience creating and managing processes and moving large-scale project forward;
Autonomy and sense of initiative;
Ability to work fast and meet aggressive deadlines;
Flexibility and eagerness to learn new areas of law;
You have excellent communication skills, you’re humble, and you enjoy sharing & learning from others;
Full working proficiency in English, French and Ukrainian;
