Are you an international trade attorney looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, innovative company? Come have fun and make history with Amazon's Global Trade Legal team. We are looking for a talented attorney to manage international trade legal work in support of our Consumer and Operations businesses.


Key job responsibilities
This role involves advising Amazon businesses on global trade regulations, with a focus on import compliance. You will provide day-to-day trade guidance, track emerging regulatory trends, and help shape Amazon's compliance policies and programs.

You will tackle complex, high-stakes global trade issues across current and future business models, offering strategic counsel to help expand selection to Amazon's global stores. You will collaborate with engineers, program managers, and retail/logistics teams to support Amazon-branded products, technological innovations, and improved compliance processes. Import-related work includes tariff classification, country of origin, and customs valuation, as well as developing submissions to regulators and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities also include legal research, risk analysis, drafting guidance documents and regulatory submissions, managing data review projects, and developing process improvements and automation.

The ideal candidate works independently, manages high volumes with urgency, and thinks creatively in ambiguous situations. You must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to shift priorities quickly. A client-service mindset, enthusiasm for technology, sound judgment, and professionalism in handling confidential information are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Basic Qualifications

- License to practice law in Europe, US or other common law jurisdiction
- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
- Qualified lawyer with outstanding academic credentials.
- 5+ years of post-admission legal experience.
- Experience with customs, import, and export laws.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
