About the Role


We are looking for a dynamic IP Counsel to help manage and protect Alstom’s global trademarks, designs, domain names, copyrights, and related contracts. This role combines operational portfolio management with strategic support to internal stakeholders—including Design, Communication, Marketing, and Product teams.


You will play a key role in shaping Alstom’s brand and design protection strategy, working in a truly international environment.


 



What You Will Do


1. Portfolio Management – Trademarks, Designs & Domains



  • Manage global trademark, design, and domain name portfolios for Products & Services.

  • Maintain records, deadlines, and case files in Anaqua/IPDATA2.

  • Coordinate with external IP firms on office actions, renewals, evidence of use, POAs, and archiving.


2. Strategic Collaboration with Advanced and Creative Design Teams - IP Maps & Score Definition 



  • Partner with Advanced and Creative Design teams to identify, assess, and protect new designs.

  • Define IP scopes for catalog products, customer projects, and innovative creations.

  • Provide strategic guidance on design protection.


3. Products & Services Global Brand Naming Strategy



  • Support naming initiatives with Communication, Marketing, and Product Lines.

  • Prepare Brand Committee submissions.

  • Deliver legal clearance opinions and oversee filings and portfolio updates.


4. IP Legal Support – Contracts & Litigation



  • Draft, review, negotiate, and analyse IP agreements.

  • Manage pre‑litigation and litigation matters.

  • Collaborate with Regional Legal teams on customer contract IP issues.


5. IP Database Administration - Anaqua & Tools



  • Act as Anaqua owner for the Trademarks team: workflow optimization, reporting, user guide creation, internal deployment & training.

  • Use Corsearch, TMview, WIPO tools for searches and monitoring.


6. Legal Monitoring & Compliance



  • Monitor trademark, design, domain name, and copyright legal developments.

  • Ensure compliance with EUIPO, WIPO, USPTO, ICANN rules.





What You Bring


Technical Skills



  • Solid knowledge of trademark & design procedures and IP law.

  • Experience with Anaqua, IPDATA2/Ordipat, Corsearch.

  • Strong contract drafting skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.


Soft Skills



  • Precise, organized, and rigorous.

  • Excellent communicator and proactive business partner.

  • Strong multitasking and deadline‑management abilities.


Education & Experience



  • Master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law.

  • 3–5 years of experience (maximum).

  • International exposure is a plus; the role requires interactions across Alstom global teams.


Languages



  • Fluent English and French required.
