Job Description

 

Under the supervision of the Legal Counsel, the Apprentice Legal Counsel – Commercial law shall:

  • Secure and enable strategic commercial agreements,
  • Support and enable effective deployment of the Group commercial, business and sales strategy,
  • Prevent, navigate and resolve legal issues,
  • Actively monitor regulatory developments (in the hotel sector) and best practices relevant to the Group including making proposals in order to ensure that any regulatory changes are anticipated and managed,
  • Provide regular training to the business teams, when necessary, on new legal or regulatory developments,
  • Conduct legal watch activities and prepare regular summaries and alerts for the team on new laws, regulations and regulatory guidance relevant to the team's scope of activities, in order to ensure the team remains up to date and can proactively adapt its practices,
  • Support the teams with regards relationships with authorities and administrations (DDPP, DGCCRF, EU Commission),
  • Actively support in the deployment of the use of the digital tools used at Group level, in particular the Global Contracting Policy,
  • Actively participate in the drafting and regular updates of templates, in line with the Group Global Contract Policy,
  • Any other task which may be deemed fit to protect the reputation and assets of the Group.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Master law degree in Contract, Distribution, competition and/or Economic Law as well as International Business Law, ideally with double cursus
  • Experience in international business law, competition, distribution & general commercial laws as well as in pre-litigation & contractual negotiation
  • FLUENT English,
  • Strong drafting skills,
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and people skills,
  • Ability to simplify and be impactful,
  • Strong business acumen,
  • Methodical organizational skills, ability to plan and to be pragmatic: strong project management skills,
  • Awareness of main compliance matters such as data protection, fight against corruption, compliance to international sanctions, duty of vigilance and competition/antitrust law,
  • Curiosity and capacity to understand and implement the requirements of sector regulations,
  • Technology savvy, good understanding of information systems and advanced technologies.
