As Corporate Counsel for Real Estate, you will partner with Amazon's Real Estate and Operations teams to buy, lease, construct, launch, and manage Amazon's logistics facilities across Europe, with a focus on Germany. Our projects include:

• Strategically located delivery stations
• Urban and rural development sites
• Specialised logistics and last mile facilities

Key job responsibilities
Key job responsibilities
• Negotiate and draft complex real estate agreements including purchase and sale agreements, ground leases, build-to-suit leases, and development agreements as well as construction contracts.
• Partner with business teams to structure real estate transactions and construction projects that meet Amazon's operational needs while managing legal and business risks.
• Advise on land use, zoning and permitting strategies to support facility development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Finance, Tax, and Construction to drive projects from site selection through facility launch.
• Develop creative solutions to complex legal issues that arise during real estate acquisition and development.
• Support post-acquisition matters including construction contracts, property management agreements, and operational issues.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on specialised matters while maintaining oversight of legal strategy and costs.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks in real estate transactions and development projects.
• Stay current on relevant real estate laws, regulations, and other trends affecting Amazon's logistics network.
• Drive continuous improvement in legal and other processes to increase efficiency and scalability across the real estate portfolio.

A day in the life
Each day brings diverse challenges to this dynamic role. One morning, you might review an urgent site acquisition while revising a complex build-to-suit agreement for a new fulfillment center. Other days see you manage multiple deals simultaneously, reviewing purchase agreements, construction contracts and answer ad hoc asset management questions, all with tight deadlines. Some days will have you advising senior leadership on an essential escalation, while others will find you utilising AI to improve efficiency and speed in our work. Throughout each day, you balance urgent matters with strategic work, directly impacting Amazon's growing operations network.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in Real Estate Law
- License to practice law in Europe, US or other common law jurisdiction
- Significant experience with a minimum of 6+ years of post qualification legal experience
- Experience of real estate transactions and asset management in Germany

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Speak, write, and read fluently in German
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
