BYD is expanding its operations in France to support a growing portfolio of New Electric Vehicle Passenger car and LCVs projects.
Role Overview
The HR Manager (France) will be fully responsible for overseeing and managing all human resources activities for the France entity. This role combines strategic HR leadership and hands-on operational delivery, ensuring full compliance with French labour law while supporting business growth and organisational development.
As the key HR lead in France, the HR Manager will act as a trusted business partner to local management, driving people strategies aligned with company objectives, and serving as the primary point of contact for all employee-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Leadership & Overall HR Management
Take full ownership of all HR activities in France, ensuring smooth and compliant HR operations.
Act as the main HR advisor to the Country Manager and local leadership team.
Translate global and regional HR strategies into effective local implementation.
Build and continuously improve HR processes, policies, and governance frameworks.
2. Employee Relations & French Labour Law Compliance
Manage all employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, exits, and restructurings.
Ensure full compliance with French labour law, collective agreements, and internal policies.
Lead relations with employee representative bodies (CSE), including elections, consultations, and negotiations.
Coordinate with external legal counsel when required and manage labour-related risks.
3. Recruitment & Talent Management
Oversee end-to-end recruitment for France, partnering closely with hiring managers.
Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies to support business expansion.
Drive onboarding, probation management, and early engagement initiatives.
Support talent development, succession planning, and learning programs.
4. Performance, Compensation & Benefits
Lead performance management cycles, ensuring consistency and fairness.
Manage local compensation and benefits processes in alignment with group policies and market practices.
Support annual salary review and bonus processes.
Monitor pay structures and contribute to reward optimisation.
5. HR Operations & Projects
Ensure accurate HR administration, employee data management, and HR reporting.
Coordinate payroll and benefits administration with external providers and internal finance teams.
Lead or contribute to HR projects such as organisational change, employee engagement, wellbeing, and diversity & inclusion initiatives.
Support audits and internal controls related to HR processes.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
8+ years of HR experience, with solid exposure to both strategic and operational HR roles.
Proven experience managing HR matters in France, with strong knowledge of French labour law.
Experience working with employee representative bodies (CSE).
Ability to work autonomously and manage a broad HR scope in a fast-growing environment.
Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Hands-on mindset with the ability to balance strategy and execution.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
