Reporting to a Senior Intellectual Property Counsel, and based in Geneva, Switzerland, you will support Chanel’s global IP protection and  enforcement activities, with a particular focus on online and offline enforcement across multiple jurisdictions.

You will work closely with local, Regional and Global IP teams, as well as with an international network of external lawyers, investigators and service providers, to ensure the effective protection and enforcement of Chanel’s IP rights.

 

The role includes:

  • Supporting global enforcement and anti-counterfeiting activities, including:
    • Coordination of customs seizures with authorities and external partners
    • Online monitoring and takedown programmes across marketplaces, social media and websites
    • Assisting with investigations into infringing activities and supply chains
    • Preparation and follow-up of cease-and-desist letters
  • Providing support on infringement, opposition and cancellation matters, including pre-action research, document preparation, and case follow-up as well as third-party monitoring programs. 
  • Assisting with online monitoring of infringement trends, and leveraging tech tools for  reporting and analysis
  • Managing filings, prosecution, maintenance and recordals of trademarks, designs, and domain names;
  • Handling official correspondence and deadlines with local trademark offices and WIPO, including preparing responses to official office actions.
  • Conducting trademark clearances searches in various jurisdictions as needed.  Ability to review and analyze the results and provide concise risk analysis to the attorneys?  

 

  • Responsible for administrative formalities and maintaining IP database records, ensuring accurate data entry, tracking of actions and rigorous deadline management.
  • Support in preparing required documentation and supporting evidence for enforcement and portfolio matters. 
  • Conducting legal and online research, preparing reports and supporting internal presentations.
  • Following and communicating developments in enforcement practices, technologies and relevant legal frameworks, including the responsible use of new technologies and AI

You will bring to the team:

  • Law degree; specialization in Intellectual Property preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Intellectual Property, with a focus on brand protection.
  • Familiarity with online enforcement tools, digital platforms, and IP databases  (including WIPO, EUIPO and national IP Offices).
  • Prior experience with a legal or IP document and data management system.
  • Enhanced digital literacy, curiosity and eagerness to learn, including interest in new technologies and responsible use of AI
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, combined with the ability to see the bigger picture
  • A proactive, hands-on and solution-oriented mindset (“can-do” attitude)
  • A strong team spirit and global mindset, with the ability to collaborate across regions and cultures
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Fluency in English and French; additional languages a plus.
