Descriptif de l'offre

We are looking for a Deputy Counsel to join ICC’s International Centre for ADR for a 10-month fixed-term contract. As a leading dispute resolution institution, we attract a growing case load from all over the world. Our International Centre for ADR (“the Centre”) administers all cases filed under the ICC Mediation, Experts, Dispute Board and DOCDEX Rules.

We are also one of the institutions in charge of administering Objections and Appeals arising out of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (“ICANN”) 2026 Round Applications for new generic Top-Level Domain Names (“gTLDs”) on the internet. The cases are administered by the Centre.  

 

Your responsibilities involves both legal and administrative tasks, including:

  • Dealing with all tasks related to the implementation and organisation of our dispute resolution services in relation to the new gTLD Objection and Appeal procedures;
  • Handling the daily administration of the cases filed with the Centre under the ICC Expert Rules, in particular in relation to the new gTLD Objection and Appeal procedures;
  • Handling the daily administration of the cases filed with the Centre under the ICC Mediation, Expert, DOCDEX and Dispute Boards Rules;
  • Promoting ICC Mediation, Expertise, DOCDEX and Dispute Boards services, including representing ICC at conferences and other events;
  • Working on specific projects regarding ICC dispute resolution under the supervision of the ADR Counsel.

Requirements

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Are a recently qualified lawyer with at least two years’ relevant professional experience in alternative dispute resolution including the administration of dispute resolution procedures under institutional rules; 
  • Are well organised, have excellent written and oral communication skills and are able to work effectively in a multicultural team; 
  • Possess excellent verbal and writing skills in English and French (a good knowledge of another language would be an asset); 
  • A formal legal qualification (i.e. Bar exam or equivalent) is not essential if you can demonstrate sufficient legal training and experience in international arbitration, international and/or commercial law.
  • Prior know-how and experience of domain disputes and the work of ICANN is a an advantage.
